Your December night sky forecast is here! This month, Mercury will be visible in the dark night sky, when it’s usually lost in the glare of the sun or hard to see low at twilight. Look for it four finger widths from the reddish star Antares an hour before dawn, low in the Eastern sky. On December 28, the crescent Moon will appear close to Mercury and Antares as well. You can also look forward to the Geminids meteor shower on December 13, although a nearly full moon will wash out all but the brightest meteors so we recommend finding a dark place far away from city lights for the best viewing experience.
