Explore the Irrational with Pi

Do we need endless digits of pi? Alex Dainis explores the significance of pi, an irrational number crucial for relating a circle’s circumference to its diameter, boasting infinite digits.

Think you could memorize 70,030 digits of Pi? Alex Dainis breaks down the fascinating science behind extreme memory feats—and what role genetics might play.

Associate professor Julien de Wit and graduate student Prajwal Niraula, researchers at MIT’s Disruptive Planets Group, talk about Pi Earth, the Earth-sized planet that zips around its star every 3.14 days, and the importance of making science fun.

Help us reach our 314 donor goal!

Admission, theater tickets, and membership dues only cover 30% of the cost of keeping our doors open and programs running. Donations of any amount help us activate hope through science.
