Superman

Experience the legend and the beginning of a bold new DC Universe this summer, beginning July 11 — the same day the film is released nationwide — on the five-story IMAX® Dome in the Mugar Omni Theater. See it first at the Museum of Science!

In this fresh reimagining of the classic superhero story, Clark Kent is portrayed as a 25-year-old reporter at the Daily Planet navigating young professional life in Metropolis, balancing a romantic relationship, and secretly discovering his role as Superman. Then, when a mysterious threat emerges that endangers both Earth and his home planet Krypton’s legacy, Clark must confront who he is and what kind of hero he’s meant to be.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Superman (2025) explores the human side of the world’s most powerful hero as he grapples with personal ambition, love, and moral dilemmas. David Corenswet stars as Superman alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as tech-mogul Lex Luthor. Iconic DC characters like Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, and Green Lantern join the cast in a cinematic experience inspired by a rich canon of comic books.

Shot on IMAX-certified cameras and featuring locations from Norway to Atlanta, this film is a visual spectacle meant to be seen on the Museum’s five-story IMAX® Dome screen. Rated PG-13.

DC Studios presents a Safran Company Production, A James Gunn Film: Superman.
