What will the Sun look like when it dies? Thanks to the ‪@NASAWebbTelescope‬, we have a preview: a stunning planetary nebula, formed when a Sun-like star swells to giant size and loses its glowing outer layers to space. With the layers gone, the star’s hot white dwarf core remains, shining brightly and lighting up the drifting gas for trillions of years. In about 5 billion years, our Sun will follow the same path, a breathtaking finale in the grand story of stellar evolution.
