BOSTON, MA – The Museum of Science has been awarded the Best Science Film Award at the 2026 Dome Fest West, a leading international festival celebrating fulldome cinema and immersive media, for its original fulldome production Remixed: The Unexpected Side of Science

Produced in partnership with Dope Labs Podcast hosts and scientists Dr. Zakiya Whatley and Dr. Titi Shodiya, Remixed is a first-of-its-kind film that highlights their belief that science is everywhere – in the way we play, create, express ourselves, and make sense of the world. From art and music to sports, culture, and game design, the film reveals the scientific ideas embedded in the things we love most.

Dome Fest West is dedicated to advancing immersive storytelling through innovation in content, technology, and distribution. This year’s festival was held at the Fiske Planetarium in Boulder, Colorado, drawing a global audience of creators and industry leaders.

Remixed was screened for an international audience of more than 100 creatives, technologists, producers, and distributors. Following the screening, a panel discussion featured members of the Planetarium production team and Dr. Whatley.

“Expanding how audiences can engage with science is central to the Museum’s mission, and this recognition highlights the power of immersive storytelling to do just that,” said Tim Ritchie, Gwill York President of the Museum of Science. “Remixed reflects our commitment to pushing creative boundaries and contributing to evolving conversations at the intersection of science, media, and culture. We’re deeply grateful to the Dope Labs Podcast and the Museum of Science team who brought this project to life.”
