Join us on the Gordon Current Science & Technology Center stage in the Blue Wing for Nautilus Live—a special live presentation in collaboration with the exploration ship E/V Nautilus. Using underwater robots, Nautilus explores shipwrecks, plane wrecks, and marine life on the ocean floor. During this program, you’ll hear from Museum educator and Science Communication Fellow Locke Patton, broadcasting from the ship as it searches for sunken treasures and sea creatures beneath the waves of the Solomon Islands’ Iron Bottom Sound. Ask Locke your questions in real time and discover how the Ocean Exploration Trust is uncovering the hidden stories of our oceans while advancing the fields of geology, biology, and archaeology. Don’t miss this chance to see ocean exploration in action and connect with the wonders of the deep sea!

About the Nautilus Live

In 2025, E/V Nautilus will explore deep-sea habitats in the Western Pacific using its mapping sonars, ROV systems, and other exploration technologies from partner institutions of the NOAA Ocean Exploration Cooperative Institute. Join us in characterizing deep-sea habitats around Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Solomon Islands, and more. The goals of these expeditions are codeveloped with national exploration priorities and input from scientists, resource managers, and local communities and stakeholders in the regions where the expeditions will take place.
