Image Featuring Image Juan Enriquez Bestselling author, TED All-Star, and Managing Director at Excel Venture Management Juan Enriquez is widely recognized as a leading authority on the economic and societal impact of life sciences and brain research, and as a respected business leader and entrepreneur. He is the author and co-author of multiple influential books, including As the Future Catches You, The Untied States of America, Evolving Ourselves, and RIGHT/WRONG: How Technology Transforms Our Ethics. Juan regularly advises CEOs of Fortune 50 companies and heads of state on navigating a world where the dominant language is shifting from digital to biological innovation. A prolific speaker, Juan has delivered ten TED Talks across a wide range of topics, along with dozens of TEDx presentations. He was the founding Director of Harvard Business School’s Life Sciences Project and later became an active angel investor, founding Biotechonomy Ventures before co-founding Excel Venture Management. He serves on multiple for-profit and nonprofit boards, including the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, WGBH, Harvard’s David Rockefeller Center, Cortico, and QuestBridge. His experiences also include sailing on a global expedition that expanded the known catalog of genes a hundredfold and participating in the peace commission that negotiated a ceasefire with the Zapatistas.
