AI Fluency: A Hands-On Skills Intensive

Wednesday, June 24 | 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

You’ve used the tools. You’ve gotten results. Now set up the tools to work for you like your personal intern. This session is about building a working generative AI setup that knows your context, fits your workflow, and gets more useful as you use it!

AI Workshop (2026)

In two hours, you'll go from using GenAI tools to deploying them — with expert instructors, hands-on learning, and a room full of people who showed up for the same reason you did, all at one of Boston's most trusted institutions.

The AI Collective Group has guided over 200 students through in-person, hands-on AI learning. They know the material and they know how to make it land.

This is not a webinar or a panel. It's a working lab so bring your laptop and your curiosity.

Limited seats. Register now.

Presented by The AI Collective Group in partnership with the Museum of Science, Boston.

About the Workshop

What You’ll Build in This Session
You’ll leave having practiced working with four functional tools, configured and ready to use:

  • A NotebookLM notebook. Your personal AI research companion loaded with your sources, ready to answer questions, surface connections, and generate briefs from material you actually work with.
  • A Gem in Gemini. A custom AI assistant built around a specific role or task you return to repeatedly. It knows your context before you say a word.
  • A Project in Claude or ChatGPT. A persistent workspace where your instructions, your documents, and your conversation history live together so you’re not starting from scratch every time.
  • A Space in Perplexity. A focused research environment built around your domain, so your searches and sources stay organized and connected.

What You'll Establish
Beyond the individual tools, you’ll leave with a workflow.  It’s a practical plan for how these tools work together, which one to reach for when, and how to treat your GenAI setup less like a tool you pick up and more like a coworker who’s always prepared.

You'll take home: A one-page guide with ready-to-use templates, refinement moves, and access to our online ‘field guide’ with notes, tips, tricks, and tools for continuing your AI fluency journey. Our online resources are there when you're ready to use what you learned in our workshop.

Bring a fully charged laptop or tablet. Smartphones are not recommended for this workshop. Free GenAI tools are used throughout; some may require a login with an email. No subscriptions or prior accounts required.
