Motion, Forces and Energy

Traveling Programs are temporarily unavailable. Out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with public health guidance, the Museum will not be offering Traveling Programs for the remainder of calendar year 2020. The Museum will make a decision about Traveling Programs reservations for January – June 2021 later this calendar year. The Museum of Science is committed to supporting students and educators. Resources can be found at MOS at Home. More to come soon!

Available to Schools Only

This presentation includes demonstrations and experiments to explore how motion is a form of energy and how we can use forces to change an object’s motion. We’ll use the energy stored in a bungee cord to launch a student-ridden cart across the room, transfer the energy from a spinning wheel to make a student spin round and round, and use student energy and force to lift a teacher using a giant lever.
