Science Park Teams up with Fenway Park

New partnership between the Museum of Science and the Boston Red Sox is a home run!

The Museum of Science and the Boston Red Sox have teamed up in a first-of-its-kind, multi-year partnership between two iconic Boston institutions. The goal? To bring baseball-inspired STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) learning opportunities to the more than 70,000 members of Red Sox Kid Nation, the team's club for fans 14 and under. Both organizations will also collaborate on family-friendly programs, activities, and events throughout the year!

STEM Content

In collaboration with the Red Sox, the Museum, a national leader in STEM education, will help develop integrated baseball and science content for Wally & Tessie’s STEM Workbook, available later this season during home games at Fenway's Kid Nation booth and at Wally's Clubhouse, housed in the Champion's Club.

Red Sox-Themed Design Challenge

In addition to expanding and enhancing the workbooks, the Museum will develop a Red Sox-themed Design Challenge, our signature hands-on experience that introduces visitors to the engineering design process. Design Challenges, aimed at students grades four through ten and family groups, guide participants as they create, build, and test their prototypes to solve an engineering design problem.

First-Ever Red Sox Weekend

To kick off this exciting new partnership, we’re holding our first-ever Red Sox Weekend on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30 right here at Science Park! Be on the lookout for special guest Wally, the Red Sox team mascot, who will be on-site greeting kids of all ages. The two-day weekend event also features Red Sox and baseball-themed STEM activities throughout the Museum.

Learn More

According to Museum director and president, Ioannis Miaoulis, this partnership with the Boston Red Sox will expand the Museum’s reach and inspire children of all ages and backgrounds to develop essential STEM skills. "This collaboration is a natural extension of our programs and exhibits, expanding our capacity to make science and engineering accessible to all. Together, the Museum of Science and the Red Sox will inspire kids to see themselves as STEM learners and push the boundaries of what’s possible."
