ReelAbilities Film Festival Presents Life, Animated

This inspirational, heartwarming documentary introduces the world to Owen Suskind, a young man with autism who was unable to speak as a child until he and his family discovered a unique way to communicate — immersing themselves in the world of classic Disney animated films. An emotional coming-of-age story, the film follows Owen as he graduates to adulthood and takes his first steps toward independence. Join Ron Suskind, Owen's father and author of the New York Times bestseller that inspired the film, to discover the many ways in which stories can help us persevere through the dark times and lead us all to the light. Reception and book signing to follow.

The ReelAbilities Film Festival is dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories, and artistic expression of people with different disabilities from a variety of communities.

This program is free thanks to the generosity of the Lowell Institute. Additional funding provided by the Richard S. Morse Fund.
