Medusa: Reclaiming the Myth

Encore performance!

7:30 pm show is sold out. Additional 9:30 pm show just added!

After a sold-out run as part of the Museum's Summer Thursdays, What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? return to the Charles Hayden Planetarium for a one-night-only encore of Medusa: Reclaiming the Myth! A multimedia musical experience, this animated audio play with live band performances retells the Medusa tale for the modern era: subverting themes of dominance and violence and reclaiming the underlying themes of female empowerment, cunning, collaboration, and triumph. With love, humor, and a playful touch of modernity, Medusa: Reclaiming the Myth presents a vision for strategic and imaginative collaboration among marginalized characters and invites audiences to view the Medusa story as a tale of self-love, triumph, and liberation.

Content Warning: Sexual assault, violence, discriminatory attitudes. This play contains an act of sexual violence that is not visually depicted, but is conveyed through dialogue and audio.

Join us in your Grecian best! Costumes of a Greek or Roman mythological character or creature or one's personal version of Medusa encouraged! Cash bar and complimentary light bites open at 6:30 pm in the Planetarium lobby.
