eGaming: Fortnite Tournament

After a sold-out season of eGaming under the dome during Summer Thursdays, the eGaming sensation is back and ready to take the Planetarium medium to competitive new levels. Whether you're an expert player, new to the esports arena, or simply a fan of the phenomenon — this is your ultimate chance to explore the future of athleticism in exhilarating new ways. Grab your ticket for a shot at competing and taking home the ultimate $250 prize!

You've played Fortnite on PC, consoles, and mobile, but you've never played it like this! Come experience Fortnite on a full two-story screen inside the Planetarium!

Attendees may arrive early for warm ups starting at 6:30 pm.

Format

The structure of this tournament is that of a Leaderboard Race, meaning players will be competing and putting up high scores on a leaderboard throughout the event. This also maximizes play time for players and gives everyone an even chance to take first place, right up to the very last minute of play.

Once all players are entered into the roster, their names are shuffled and they'll be randomly called to sit down at a set up and perform a single, solo drop on a public server. When their drop is over, the next available player is called to that setup to perform their own drop. After each player's drop, their score is recorded by a staff member and entered on our live leaderboard. Players will continue to perform drops in this order for the entire duration of the event.

ONLY A PLAYER'S BEST SCORE will be entered onto the leaderboard, so a player's score on the leaderboard can only improve throughout the event.

Scoring

The scoring structure for this tournament will be in accordance with the GG Circuit format.

  • +9 points for a win
  • +9 points for Top 25
  • +6 points for top 10
  • +6 points for top 5
  • +3 points per kill

Sign-ups to compete in each tournament are limited and first come, first served. Starting at 5:00 pm on each date, ticket holders may arrive and sign up onsite as availability permits. Please arrive early to ensure your spot to compete. All other ticket holders will have access watch the tournament live in the Planetarium.
