Math, Mirrors, and More Teacher Workshop

Intended for Educators Teaching Grades K – 8

Out the window, through a microscope, or in the mirror — patterns surround us. Patterns help inspire us as we create or build things and they teach us how to predict the unknown. In the Museum's temporary exhibition A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature, learners will explore a massive mirror maze and learn how math is used to unlock the mysteries and majesty of the patterns of our world. Curriculum connections include life sciences, physical sciences, engineering, and a variety of mathematical concepts presented through engaging interactive elements and immersive experiences.

Workshop participants will preview this exhibition, engage in related learning activities, and review the educator guide. A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature is on exhibit Sunday, February 4 – Wednesday, April 25, 2018.
