Follow these tips to make the most of your visit to the Museum of Science!
Order tickets in advance. Timed tickets are free for members and required for all visitors, including members and children under 3 and must be reserved prior to arrival at the Museum. You will need to present your timed tickets and either your membership card, or a photo ID for proof of membership at the gate for entry into the Exhibit Halls. We recommend reserving your timed tickets 2-3 days before your visit.
Visit mos.org/visit/admission to reserve timed tickets for you and your guests (timed tickets are free for members, make sure you are logged into your account).
Phone a membership expert at 617-589-0180 to reserve your tickets (Daily, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm).
Free timed tickets will also be required for The Science Behind Pixar. You will be able to reserve these tickets at the same time as your Exhibit Halls tickets. Please only reserve tickets if you plan to attend.
Your order confirmation email will include a QR code which may be used as a temporary membership within 14 days of your renewal. Print it at home or display it on your mobile device at the entrance to the Exhibit Halls.
Ensure your membership is valid. If necessary, renew online or over the phone before you arrive.
Paper bonus passes and coupons may only be redeemed by phone.
Electronic bonus passes may be redeemed by phone or through our website by creating an online account. (What are electronic passes? See our Membership FAQ).
Set up your online account before you visit. This will allow you to update your membership information online, and apply member benefits to online orders.
Go to mos.org/my-account.
Enter your email address and create a password.
Fill in all required fields using the exact spelling of your name as it appears on your membership card, and click Yes, Merge Membership.
On the next screen, enter your membership number and click Add Membership.
Merge your membership if you already have an account. If you created an online account but did not merge it with your existing membership, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 617-589-0180.
Check out Museum garage prices, hours, and special notices.. Bring your parking ticket inside the Museum for payment at the automated kiosks as you leave. Members receive a discount!
Occasionally, we may have to close the garage temporarily on very busy days until space becomes available. For safety reasons, cars cannot be permitted to wait in the driveway or on the highway. If you have passengers with special needs, you may drop them off at the main entrance to the Museum.
During school vacation weeks and other predictably busy times, we suggest taking public transportation. Visit our directions page to see how convenient it is (there is a T station located directly across the street). If you will be driving, we recommend arriving earlier or later in the day for the best parking availability.
Allow yourself sufficient time to park, pick up your tickets, and get to your show, as late entries are not permitted. If the Museum garage is full, public parking garages are located at the CambridgeSide Galleria mall or the TD Garden. However, membership discounts are only applicable in the Museum garage.
Bring your valid membership card with you for entry. If you do not have your membership card you may use a valid photo ID with your timed tickets as proof of membership or call 617-589-0180 prior to your visit to have a temporary card emailed to you
Present proof of membership at the Exhibit Halls entrance along with your timed tickets for immediate entry.
Show it in the store and café for your 10% discount.
Use the membership card at the parking kiosks for your Museum garage discount. If you are using a temporary membership, stop by the Information Desk for a member discount parking ticket.
You must reserve your timed tickets ahead of your visit online at mos.org/visit/admission, or over the phone by calling call 617-589-0180.
Timed tickets will also be required for The Science Behind Pixar (free). Please view mos.org/visitor-faq for more information

If you have paper bonus passes, make sure to bring them with you as we are unable to track their usage in our systems. We regret that missing paper passes cannot be replaced, and the passes must be exchanged at the box office for tickets.
