The Museum of Science is pleased to partner with CVS Health during the month of March for High School Health Month. This field trip opportunity offers Exhibit Hall funding* to high schools and 8th grade classrooms to explore the Museum and participate in the following health programming:
Live Presentation: Fresh Look at Old Habits
Join our Current Science & Technology experts as they reveal the latest research on tobacco, nicotine, and marijuana use by adolescents and young adults. Smoking and vaping – old habits with a new understanding.
Location: Cahners Theater. Presentation Times: 12:30 pm Monday – Friday; 11:30 am on March 6, 7, 13, 20, 21, 27 and 28. Duration: 20 minutes. Capacity: 287
Hall of Human Life Exploration Hub Lung Activity
Interact with a Museum educator at the Biogen Foundation Exploration Hub to explore lungs in one of two rotating interactive activities. Students will have the opportunity to see and touch the real heart and lungs of an animal to explore how the respiratory system works, or measure their lung capacity and explore how factors like height and pollutants like tobacco smoke might affect their breathing.
Location: Hall of Human Life, Exploration Hub. Availability: Monday – Friday; 10:00 am to noon. Capacity: We recommend having students in small groups on a staggered schedule during your visit so that students may enjoy a personal experience with our educators.
*Exhibit Halls funding and transportation scholarship available first come, first served, and is contingent upon signing up for and participating in the Live Presentation. Limit 150 people per school. Reservations must be made 2 weeks prior to your desired date of visit.
