Explorers and Discoverers Levels and Benefits

Explorers and Discoverers support every facet of the Museum’s daily operations. We thank you for helping ensure that we continue to transform the nation’s relationship with science and technology and are happy to provide a range of benefits below:

All Explorers and Discoverers Enjoy

  • Explorers or Discoverers membership cards admitting up to eight people to the Exhibit Halls
  • Four member passes to each of the following: Omni films, Planetarium shows, and the Exhibit Halls *
  • Discounted purchases on tickets to the Butterfly Garden and 4-D Theater
  • Two hours of free parking every visit and a 10% discount on additional hours
  • Discounts on purchases in the Museum café and store
  • Invitations to members-only events, such as previews and other appreciation events
  • Waived service charge on advance ticket purchases
  • Subscriptions to Sparks member newsletter, Member E-News, and Explorers E-News
  • Free or discounted admission to more than 400 science centers, museums, zoos, and aquariums worldwide. See participating institutions.
  • Advance notification and registration for members-only Museum overnights and courses
  • Invitation to the annual donor appreciation event

Explorer Levels and Benefits

Kilimanjaro Level ($300 – $599)

  • Behind-the-Scenes Tours of family-favorite Museum attractions like the Mugar Omni Theater, Theater of Electricity, and Live Animal Care Center
  • Recognition in the Museum's annual donor report
  • Complimentary copies of the Museum of Science magazine

McKinley (Denali) Level ($600 – $1,199)

  • All additional benefits above, plus invitations to Insiders Gatherings — after-hours opportunities for you to gain in-depth knowledge about aspects of the Museum

Everest Level ($1,200 – $2,499)

  • All additional benefits above, plus invitations to unique Showcase events — preview exciting topics from new exhibits and programs before they open to members of the public

Discoverers Levels and Benefits

Bronze Level ($2,500 – $4,999)

All benefits above, plus:

  • Recognition on the Discoverers Society wall plaque in the Museum
  • Discoverers Appreciation Event – a celebratory evening at the Museum of Science
  • Exclusive exhibition previews and private receptions with Museum experts and guests speakers

Silver Level ($5,000 – $9,999)

  • Discoverers Concierge Service – receive help in booking tickets, planning your visit and customizing your day at the Museum
  • Discoverer for a Day – share the magic of the Museum and extended Discoverers benefits with friends and family

Gold Level ($10,000 – $24,999)

All benefits above, plus:

  • Colby Society event – a seated dinner recognizing our lead benefactors and honoring excellence in STEM

Platinum Level ($25,000+)

All benefits above, plus:

  • Premier parking – enjoy complimentary parking for one vehicle every visit
  • Day at the Museum – we plan a full day of shows and activities customized for you and your guests

* Benefits for all levels valued at $142. Due to the tax implications of benefits that are offered in connection with donations made through donor-advised funds, family trusts, or other types of foundations, please contact your tax adviser or financial consultant if you are unsure whether or not to accept the full range of Explorers or Discoverers Level benefits.
