Bradford Washburn: The Man Behind the Lens

Permanent Exhibit

Our Museum Exhibits team has thoroughly reviewed every exhibit component throughout the entire Museum to assess its safety and risk for transmission. As a result, some exhibits and venues have been modified for your safety. The Washburn exhibit, as well as the rest of the Green Wing, Level 3, is closed.

Originally a companion piece to the temporary exhibit Colossal: Aerial Photographs by Bradford Washburn, this exhibit tells the story of the renowned mountaineer, photographer, cartographer, and founding director of the Museum of Science through photos and graphics.

The exhibit celebrates Brad's extraordinary legacy spanning more than 60 years of service (40 as director) to this institution.
