Membership Booth Volunteer

Description

  • Staff the Membership Booth in the Lobby
  • Promote and sell Museum of Science Memberships
  • Stay apprised of all Museum events, exhibits, and shows/presentations
  • Be prepared to answer general Museum questions and specific Membership and Member-related questions
  • Make Museum Members and visitors feel comfortable and welcome

Responsibilities

  • Be prepared to answer general Museum questions and specific Membership and Member-related questions
  • Make Museum Members and visitors feel comfortable and welcome

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years old
  • Willingness and ability to work with guests
  • Must be comfortable working on a computer
  • Sense of humor and helpful and genial manner
  • Ability to troubleshoot and handle problems calmly and efficiently

Additional Details

Commitment

Volunteers must be able to commit to an absolute minimum of 4 to 6 months (but ideally 1 year), for one of these 3-hour shifts outlined below:

  • Sundays 9:30-1:00
  • Sundays 12:30-4:00

Additionally, attendance at the New Volunteer Orientation session is required.
