SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Coordinates and executes marketing promotions, events, coupons, and targeted projects. Updates content for the Boston Globe Omni listing, WXKS Museum of Science Moment, and Monthly Calendar Update; writes and publishes monthly emails to General/Adult subscribers. Assists with work involving Media Relations, Educator and Adult Marketing, and the Museum's advertising agency, Gearon Hoffman. Maintains the $2 million+ budget for the Marketing Department and offers informational and administrative support for the Marketing Division.

DIMENSIONS:

*Coordinates approximately 8 marketing events per year

*Coordinates approximately 5 promotional campaigns per year

*Processes 30+ invoices per month for Marketing

*Research e-marketing results once a month

*Interacts with promotional/marketing representatives at 6-10 radio stations frequently (WBMX-FM, WODS-FM, WZLX-FM, WMJX-FM, WBOS-FM, WXKS-FM, WBUR)

*Interacts with several internal contacts on a regular basis

*Interacts with several external contacts per assigned project

*Interacts with 3 contacts from the Museum's advertising agency, Gearon Hoffman

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENTS:

1. Oversee approximately 5 promotional campaigns per year by working with radio representatives at approximately 15 stations (varying by flight) to ensure accuracy and increase exposure to the public.

2. Direct approximately 4 major marketing events per year around film and exhibit openings and 4 minor events (such as special screenings and concerts) to increase Museum exposure to multiple audiences.

3. Process marketing invoices and monitor budget with specific focus on the $2 million+ advertising media placement and production lines to maintain fiscal responsibility.

4. Write and publish monthly emails to General/Adult subscribers, and other lists as needed.

5. Track e-marketing efforts and report findings at the monthly E-News meeting to ensure the Museum is meeting goals and industry standards.

6. Assist the Media Relations Department by creating the Monthly Calendar Update, writing media alerts, arranging photo/video shoots, and maintaining the contact list in order to increase exposure of current and upcoming exhibits and programs.

7. Provide additional support as need for Educator and Adult Marketing to reach targeted audiences.

8. Perform miscellaneous marketing duties such as organize exhibit and film collateral, write copy for

"Museum of Science Moment" on KISS 108FM, update the Museum's Omni film listings in the Boston Globe each week, and fulfill Museum of Science Brochure requests.

9. Oversee Twitter social media initiative, manage Museum's account and create content.

10. Create and suggest content for Museum's Facebook Fan Page and assist with page management and monitoring.

11. Perform other work-related duties as required by department Managers.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Regular Full Time (40 Hrs/Wk): Mon-Fri

Qualifications:

*Excellent computer skills - should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and have excellent Internet navigation skills

*Strong organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail

*Ability to multi-task and work well under time sensitive deadlines

*Familiarity and understanding of both marketing and media relations

*Excellent oral and written communication skills

*Works well in a team as well as being self-motivated

*Strong analytical skills, especially related to budgeting, statistics and numbers

*Ability to conduct resourceful and thorough research

*Previous event planning experience a plus
