Cobi HarrisCobi Harris
Field Mountaineer/Food Manager

Hi! My name is Cobi Harris; I am the Field Mountaineer and Food Manager for the ITASE Expedition. Originally I am from Portland, Oregon but I have been living in Alaska for seven years. I lead and guide expeditions on mountains in the Alaska Range and the Wrangell Mountains such as: Mt.McKinley (Denali), Mt.Blackburn, Mt.Sanford. This past summer, I was a mountaineering and white water rafting instructor for Outward Bound in Oregon, Washington, and California. I have been climbing since 1992.

I own five acres of land in the Wrangell-St.Elias National Park in McCarthy, Alaska. I am immersed in a long term building project of a future home but presently I live in a tee-pee and share my land with black and grizzly bears. Because of my frequent ferocious visitors all of my food is perched 14 feet up in the trees on a platform big enough for a tent. I can only live on my land in the summer because of the -60 degree F temperatures known to interior Alaska in the winter.
