With Debora Ben Ami, curator of the Iron Age, and Pnina Shor, curator and head of Dead Sea Scrolls Projects, Israel Antiquities Authority Introduction by Frederick M. Lawrence, president of Brandeis University
Description
Until recently, almost everything we knew about ancient Israel came from the Bible. The period following the Old Testament era has largely remained a mystery, buried in time and uncertainty. The situation has changed radically with the archaeological discoveries of the last century in Israel, including the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947.
Explore ancient Israel as Debora Ben Ami explains the significance of the major biblical artifacts featured in the Dead Sea Scrolls: Life in Ancient Times exhibition, and delve into the Dead Sea Scrolls as Pnina Shor discusses their importance and how modern technology is being used to read and preserve them.
Adult offerings are funded in part by the Barbara and Malcolm L. Sherman Fund for Adult Programs and by the David and Marion Ellis Endowment Fund.
