Description

Models represent physical objects, but they also help conceptualize phenomena, systems, processes, and abstractions. These imperfect representations can cause confusion in students. In this workshop, teachers will learn to identify, use, analyze, and create models so you can help your students appreciate the value and the challenges of using these tools.

Learning experiences include: exploring the Making Models exhibit, constructing models through which to investigate phenomena, and practicing the use of a framework for assessing models. Throughout the morning, we'll make connections to the Next Generation Science Standards and discuss classroom connections.

Registration is limited to Teacher Partners and is required at least two weeks in advance. Free parking available for this workshop.
