Summer Courses Teaching Assistant

Description

This position will be responsible for assisting in the morning and afternoon classes of Summer Courses. With Instructors, Teaching Assistants will implement 5 - 6 weeks of themed, hands on, inquiry based science activities. The initial two weeks will be spent in planning and training; instructors will be expected to teach classes for up to 6 weeks in the summer.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of 2 classes per day for 5 – 6 weeks; classes are 2.5 hours per class.
  • Assist in the instruction and management of 15 – 20 students per class
  • Work with High School Interns in the classroom

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post HS course work, technical degree, associate’s degree or business certificate preferred.
  • More than 6 months teaching experience.

Work Schedule

This position is temporary, full-time 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday starting June 24 – August 16, 2013.

Salary

Non-Exempt (Hourly). Commensurate with experience.
