Summer Courses Program Instructor for 6th-8th Grade Classes
Description
This position will be responsible for the morning and afternoon Summer School classes for 6th-8th graders. Instructors are expected to use existing activities to develop a week long plan of themed, hands on, inquiry based science activities. The initial two weeks will be spent in planning and training; instructors will be expected to teach classes for up to 6 weeks in the summer. In the final week the instructors will be responsible for documenting which activities were successful, which were adapted and how, and/or which activities need to be completely redesigned.For more information about the Summer Courses schedule, please visit https://store.mos.org/courses/.
Responsibilities
- Teaching 1 class per day for 5 -- 6 weeks, classes are 2.5 hours per class.
- Teaching 15 -- 20 6th-8th grade students per class
- Developing and adapting class activities for the week's theme topic
- Directing High School interns in the classroom
Minimum Qualifications
- Post High School course work, technical degree, associate's degree or business certificate preferred.
- More than 6 months of teaching experience. Lab experience preferred.

Work Schedule
This position is temporary, part-time, 10 hours/week, from June 24, 2013 through August 23, 2013.
Salary
Non-Exempt (Hourly). Commensurate with experience.
