Professional Development Associate, Engineering is Elementary

Description

A Professional Development (PD) Associate for Engineering is Elementary (EiE) works with the EiE team to design and offer professional development programs, develop and write curricular resources, and engage in research, evaluation, or data collection. S/he will participate as a team member on several initiatives, as well as oversee the team and project for some initiatives. As a PD Associate s/he will help conceptualize projects, develop plans and timelines, manage logistics, ensure close continuity of various aspects and initiatives of EiE (research and evaluation, professional development, materials development, dissemination), oversee the product that is created and be involved with adhering to project budgets. S/he is expected to engage in both resource development and professional development. S/he is also expected to network both inside the Museum and across the state and nation, generate new ideas for projects and resources, and make presentations. Finally, s/he is expected to contribute to a productive environment that functions as a healthy and supportive team.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Engineering is Elementary project that runs about 10 programs/initiatives, with 14 staff, and spending approximately $2M/year.
  • The EiE program currently has reached over 1.1M students and 18,800 teachers in all 50 states.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science or Arts and additional course work preferred.
  • More than 3 years of teaching or professional development experience.
  • Science background or strong science content knowledge highly preferred
  • Ability to travel at least 5 days a month is required.

Work Schedule

This position is full-time, Monday-Friday 40 hours/week

Salary

Exempt (Salaried). Commensurate with experience.
