The New England Space Science Initiative in Education (NESSIE) is a NASA initiative
dedicated to fostering collaborations among space scientists and K-16 educators
throughout the 6-state New England region. NESSIE also serves as a clearinghouse
of information on Space Science Education for everyone.
(See also What is a Space Science Broker?)
See also our Frequently Asked Questions for further
information on NESSIE services and especially how we can assist you.
NESSIE is one of seven
regional "broker/facilitators" within NASA's Science Mission Directorate
(SMD) education and public outreach (E/PO) support network.
NESSIE's broker service is a free service of NASA. Some
of the programs that we recommend may include fees or charges, however. Please
verify with the organization responsible or contact
us for
more information on particular programs of interest.
NESSIE's role as a regional clearinghouse for space science research
and education is enabled through this website and through a variety of
targeted workshops and programs involving space scientists, K-16 educators,
informal educators at science centers and planetaria, community leaders,
and media professionals. Contact NESSIE
for more details.

Guide to the evaluation criteria for E/PO segments of OSS proposals.
Additional NASA resources can be found in our NASA Education Resource Organizations section.
NESSIE is a collaboration among the Museum of Science - Boston, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and
Tufts University.
