Information for Scientists:
If you are a space scientist in New England, NESSIE agents can provide guidance on carrying out effective Education and Public Outreach (E/PO).

Examples of services NESSIE provides Space Scientists:
Preparation of E/PO (Education and Public Outreach) grant proposals.
Partnering with K-16 educators, curriculum developers, planetarium educators, exhibit designers, librarians, and community leaders whose interests and needs best match your particular scientific endeavors.
Opportunities to participate as a public speaker on astronomy and space science.

  Each quarter, NESSIE produces an eNewsletter for Space Scientists entitled FINESSE. We invite you to peruse this newsletter online, or consider subscribing!

NASA's Education and Public Outreach website
  Site covers nearly everything scientists need to get involved in education and public outreach (E/PO).
NASA's Virtual Design Center
  NASA-sponsored Classroom of the Future’s Virtual Design Center! Researchers at the Classroom of the Future™ developed the Virtual Design Center to provide other educational researchers and NASA and educational technology designers with research-based guidelines to help them design inquiry-based learning activities.
The National Academy of Science Resources for Involving Scientists in Education (RISE)
  National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council, RISE conducts workshops and publishes materials to help scientists and engineers play effective roles in improving science education, from kindergarten through high school.
ReSciPE (Resources for Scientists in Partnership with Education)
  A project of CIRES Outreach and Science Discovery with funding from the National Science Foundation. The project team members of ReSciPE bring together their experience as working scientists and as science teachers, and their expertise in inquiry teaching and learning, professional development, and science education research.
Space Science Education Resource Directory (SSERD)
  NASA's online repository of educational materials searchable by both topic and grade level. Besides providing online materials, the SSERD also provides easy access to hard-copy educational materials.

  A collection of NASA resources for E/PO.
Space Science Institute's Scientist Section
  Contains a comprehensive collection of white papers for scientists interested in K-14 Education and Public Outreach (E/PO)

  Two excellent and highly popular examples of ways that NESSIE can partner educators and scientists.
