Advance Reservations for Lectures

We are pleased to offer our members the opportunity to reserve a limited number of advance seating passes to our outstanding lecture series this season. Ticket availability is on a first-come, first-served basis, and limited to the number of Exhibit Halls admissions permitted with your membership level.

Starting this season, members can reserve tickets before the public, online at mos.org/events. There will no longer be telephone registration.

FOOD ON FILM

Forks Over Knives Sunday, February 13, 2:30 p.m. Featuring Austin firefighter Rip Esselstyn, author of The Engine 2 Diet. This advance screening reveals the power of plants as medicine. A panel discussion follows. Member registration begins January 23.

Lunch Line Sunday, March 20, 2:30 p.m. This film follows the development of the national lunch program. A panel discussion follows. Member registration begins February 27.

We Shall Not Be Moved: The History of the Tillery Resettlement Farm Sunday, May 15, 2:30 p.m. This film chronicles the movement that began with the New Deal program giving landless sharecroppers a chance to buy their own farms. A panel discussion follows. Member registration begins April 24.

LOWELL SERIES ON PHYSICS

The Hidden Reality Wednesday, March 2, 7:00 p.m. Brian Greene, PhD, from Columbia University discusses the ideas in his new book with Amir D. Aczel, PhD, author of Fermat's Last Theorem and Present at the Creation. Member registration begins February 9.

Physics of the Future Wednesday, March 23, 7:00 p.m. Michio Kaku, PhD, shares his stunning view of the future. Member registration begins March 2.

THE CHANGING FACES OF AMERICA

Remixing Race Through Film Wednesday, February 16, 7:00 p.m. Filmmakers Llewellyn Smith and Christine Herbes-Sommers show clips and discuss their work with Alan Goodman, PhD, exhibit co-coordinator of RACE: Are We So Very Different? Member registration begins January 26.

Blindspot: The Hidden Biases of Good People Wednesday, March 30, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Mahzarin R. Banaji, PhD takes us on an interactive exploration of our unconscious minds. Member registration begins March 9.
