Traveling Programs

Traveling Programs

Our professional educators travel throughout New England, bringing science and technology programs to children. We offer programs for schools and the general public.

About the Marathon

Through its charity program, the Boston Athletic Association has awarded the Museum of Science with 15 numbers for the 114th running of the Boston Marathon®, one of the most prestigious races in the world. On April 19, 2010, 15 runners will represent the Museum, each raising a minimum of $3,250 in support of the Museum's Traveling Programs, which brings science programs to over 81,000 students annually in schools, community centers, and libraries. Our team fundraising goal is $80,000.

For over 15 years, Traveling Programs has helped the Museum forge strong connections with community organizations and leaders in an effort to broaden the availability of the Museum's resources. These programs provide a special opportunity for schools that simply do not have the financial resources for a field trip to the Museum. The funds raised by the marathon runners will go toward purchasing a new van fleet and expanding programming to new communities.
