As our observations of Mercury have become more sophisticated, advancing from the naked eye to telescopes to satellites, the planet has continued to intrigue and surprise us. Even with our recent, detailed investigation using NASA's most advanced technology, Mercury has become more mysterious.

Now, new questions are popping up: What drives Mercury's unusual magnetic field? What processes have deformed its crust? Is there frozen water on the surface?
