A Day in Pompeii
Temporary Exhibit [Return to listing page]
Sunday, October 02, 2011 - Sunday, February 12, 2012
Get a glimpse of daily life in Pompeii, one of Imperial Rome's most cosmopolitan cities. Hundreds of artifacts including body casts of the volcano's victims bring to light the vibrancy of this bustling resort town, but the darkening skies ahead and violent sounds of Vesuvius spewing ash and debris signal imminent danger.
Tickets: On sale June 7 for groups and schools, August 24 for the general public.
Advance purchase highly recommended.
A Day in Pompeii will be open late on January 25 and February 1. Regular admission rates apply and advance registration is highly recommended. Last entry time is at 6:00 p.m. Stop by for a quick visit after work, or explore the ancient city before attending one of our lectures: Volcanoes on the Verge (January 25 at 7:00 p.m.) and Extreme Weather (February 1 at 7:00 p.m.).
Presented in partnership with Soprintendenza Speciale per i Beni Archeologici di Napoli e Pompei.
