Transition Roadable Aircraft

Temporary Exhibit [Return to listing page]

Thursday, December 18, 2008 - Sunday, January 04, 2009

Move over, George Jetson; the Transition is a real, drivable plane that is now being tested on a road — or sky — near you. Developed by Terrafugia, Inc. in Woburn, Massachusetts, this light sport aircraft can fold its wings after landing, drive on the highway, and park in a standard garage.

Museum visitors can get a first glimpse of a prototype for this innovative vehicle that can fly up to 400 nautical miles on a tank of unleaded gasoline.
