With never-before-seen images captured by NASA's STEREO satellites, 3-D Sun delivers a thrilling view of Earth's closest star. Launched in October 2006, the STEREO mission enables scientists to view the Sun from beyond Earth's orbit. For the first time, its atmospheric structures are revealed in three dimensions, allowing scientists to document space weather disturbances from Sun to Earth — greatly aiding their ability to understand solar physics.
