Family Trees
Although there are thousands of fossils of human ancestors, the exact relationship between each of these specimens has yet to be determined. Scientists present competing hypotheses and test which may be correct. Here, we present three current, equally valid hypotheses of the hominid family tree. Look carefully at where the scientists all agree, and where there is still disagreement. Explore how the latest discoveries alter these family trees.
Check the box next to each scientists name to overlay that scientists interpretation over the others.
