What Hippos Can Teach Us about Brain Development

In an isolated island habitat that is short on resources, there is evidence that the bodies and brains of some hippo species have shrunk over time. A new study on brain development seeks to find a correlation between hippos and humans, which might explain the finding of a dwarf-size human skeleton found in Indonesia in 2004.
