Searching for Small Molecules
Videocast [Return to listing page]
April 30, 2009
Now that the human genome has been sequenced, we face the challenge of understanding how each of its proteins participates in development and disease. Researchers use small molecules to finely control a protein in order to understand its function, sometimes leading to new therapies. In this videocast, the Broad Institute's Angela Koehler discusses her group's use of small-molecule microarrays to allow scientists to screen for small molecules that can directly bind to a target protein.
