Ozone-depleting chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) were first banned over 20 years ago after a group of researchers discovered a seasonal hole in the ozone layer over Antarctica. Recently, a team of atmospheric chemists at NASA used climate models to predict what would have happened if we had continued to use CFCs without regulation.
