Field Trip Sale

The $2 field trip we offered in the fall allowed more students to visit the Museum in a single month (30,000) than ever before. We are pleased to bring the sale back for the month of January. The $2 price includes entry to our Exhibit Halls and all live public programs, including those in the Theater of Electricity, our new Engineering Design Workshop, Cahners Theater, and on the Shapiro Family Science Live! stage.

Lizards & Snakes: Alive!
Opens February 17
Free with Exhibit Halls admission; appropriate for all grades

Students of animal adaptations will want to visit the largest display of live lizards and snakes ever assembled in New England. Witness an amazing variety of squamates and observe their remarkable adaptations, including projectile tongues, deadly venom, amazing camouflage,and sometimes surprising modes of locomotion. Build a great field trip with related shows,exhibits, films, and presentations throughout the Museum.

Mugar Omni Theater Reopens
December 26

Our favorite theater reopens, newly renovated and with great new feature films including Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs and Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure. School groups greater than 50 can request a film from our Omni library to complement their curriculum.

Wired to Win Scholarships
This school year only

Ortho-McNeil Neurologics, Inc. is providing field trip scholarships for 9,000 students to visit the Exhibit Halls and also see the IMAX® film Wired to Win. This award-winning film explores the structure, function, and wonders of the human brain. Scholarships are for life science students in grades 3 – 12 with financial need.

The 13th Annual Symposium on Biotechnology Education
March 31

Plan to join us for a full day of workshops that offer successful, classroom-tested DNA and biotechnology related activities. The symposium is for middle school, high school, and community college educators.  Registration begins in January.
