Bread, Cells, and Industry: A Genzyme Teacher Seminar

Middle school teachers and Genzyme biotech professionals team up in a one-day seminar to explore yeast as a bio-system and how the process of bread making can be used to demonstrate biotechnology principles. Building on this work, the seminar explores how these same principals apply to the manufacture of custom cells for patient therapies. Working side by side with Genzyme professionals, teachers will have ample time to ask questions and discuss concepts. The day finishes with a tour of a Genzyme cell manufacturing facility in Cambridge.
The program takes place at the Museum of Science on Saturday, May 10, 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The tour of Genzyme's facility will end by 4:00 p.m.
