Discovery Center
Designed for children from birth to age eight and their accompanying grownups, the Discovery Center offers an assortment of fun, hands-on activities that are designed to encourage discovery through play. An ideal area for early learners, this educational environment emphasizes the use of real objects and has an extensive teaching collection for exploring natural history, physical science, and technology topics.
Students focus on natural science as they work together to assemble a Mystery Skeleton or observe small animals at close range. They can also explore a Discovery Box full of real objects and models, such as dinosaurs, skulls, or owls, with the aid of staff and volunteers.
Be sure to ask us about 10 - 15 minute science experiments or engineering challenges available for small groups at the Experiment Station. We recommend that you plan to pend up to 45 minutes in the Discovery Center. Available: Daily. Time: Beginning at 10:00 a.m.
